  • SPECIAL HEARING ON WILZIG RACETRACK MAR. 27 The Town of Taghkanic Planning Board will hold a special meeting to discuss a new application forWilzig Racing Manor on Tuesday, March 27th at 6:30 pm at Town Hall. Mr. Wilzig is simultaneously suing the Town and ZBA, continuing his argument that this mile-long asphalt track is a "customary accessory use" to his one-family home, while also applying for a permit for the track from a separate agency. The Granger Group believes the lawsuit is intended primarily as an effort to intimidate the Planning Board into giving him a permit in exchange for not having to litigate his nuisance suit.

  • BREAKING: ZBA RULES AGAINST WILZIG At its November 20th meeting, The Taghkanic Zoning Board of Appeals upheld the Order to Remedy against Wilzig Racing Manor issued in July by Zoning Code Enforcement Officer Dennis Callahan. The ZBA rejected by a vote of 3-to-1 the argument brought forward by Wilzig attorney Carl Whitbeck, who asked the Board to deem Wilzig's mile-long, asphalt racetrack as a customary accessory use to a one-family residential property.
